El/la primi-verano extraño sigue ejerciendo su poderío sobre España y los españoles, y los granadinos no somos una excepción. Pasé el día de compras y comiendo fuera, pero tuve que salir de casa muy pronto así que necesitaba algo cómodo para echar todo el día.

Weird spring-summer hasn't been giving us a break in Spain, and Granada is no exception. I spent the whole morning shopping and went out for lunch, but I had to leave my house pretty early in the morning so I needed something comfy to be up and about.

Cómo llevar una prenda IT sin morir (desapercibida) en el intento.

Primeramente, quería pedir disculpas a todos mis lectores por estar tan ausente esta semana pasada. Sé que no soy la única persona ocupada y que esto es cuestión de constancia, así que prometo dejar programados posts para los días entre semana.

First of all, I want to apologize to all of my readers for having been so absent these last weeks. I know I am not the only busy person here and that this is all about being consistent, so I promise to program several post for week days on these weeks to come.

Now that's that, let's get to it: the famous Zara skort.

A mal día, buenas caras.

Y digo caras, así en plural, porque precisamente el viernes me dediqué a eso: a arreglar un día, que había sido malo a nivel personal, haciendo lo que más disfruto haciendo en este mundo. Pero más concretamente, fue una tarde de retratos robados.

Descivilización

¿¡Qué tal el finde?! El mío, por lo desatendidos que tengo vuestros comentarios, el poco tiempo que he tenido para pasarme por vuestros blogs y ver qué os contáis, y lo poco que he estudiado, se podría decir que bastante ajetreado.

La cuestión es que el sábado estuve todo el día de comunión, y el convite fue en un club muy bonito de mi ciudad. Suele ocurrirme a menudo que, independientemente de la ocasión de la que se trate y lo que lleve puesto, siempre acabo perdiendo las formas y subiendo o trepando a algún sitio o encontrando cualquier otro tipo de actividad medianamente temeraria. He aquí el proceso de Carmenización.

How was your weekend?! I bet you are all able to tell, by how I have neglected attending your comments, stopping by your blogs, and sitting down to study, that mine was pretty eventful.

On Saturday, I attended a first communion celebration, and lunch was held at a really pretty complex here in Granada. 

It happens fairly often to me that, regardless of the occasion and the outfit, I always end up wilding out by climbing/going to places I shouldn't/taking part in a fair amount of undefined reckless activity. Thus I bring to you the process of Carmenization.

¿¡De compras, un jueves?! (Mango Shopping Night)

Empezaré diciendo que creo que incluso los eclipses lunares son más frecuentes que el hecho de que yo me pueda permitir salir de compras entre semana. Pero este jueves fue una ocasión especial, ¡había que aprovechar los descuentos en Mango sí o sí! Luego también, como que no quiere la cosa, me pase por Zara (en busca de cangrejeras y la famosa falda origami) aunque aquello acabó siendo una misión fallida.

Let me just start this off by saying that crazy stuff like lunar eclipses probably happen more often than me going out shopping on a weekday. But Thursday was a special occasion, I couldn't let the Shopping Night sales at Mango pass me by! After that, I also went to Zara (to hunt down the famous origami skort and some cutout Phillip Lim-esque sandals) but I was not successful in that task.

¡Gente! Este está siendo un finde tan intenso que apenas tengo tiempo para escribir, pero os tengo que contar el sábado sí o sí. Hizo una temperatura estupendísima (creo que de los 20ºC no bajamos) en Granada, es decir, se dió el día que había estado esperando durante tanto tiempo... la inauguración de la temporada de las no-medias.

People! This has been one hell of an intense weekend... I barely have time to write, but I have to tell you about Saturday. Saying we had an amazing spring temperature  in Granada would be an understatement (20ºC/70ishº Farenheit all day), and so the day I had been long waiting for came true... the inauguration of no-tights season.

Morning! I am programming this so it publishes on Monday right when I'm supposed to start school... like a true Granadino would say: FÓH!


Quería hablaros sobre una genial propuesta a manos de una marca de ropa que se llama DSL55. Hacen cortos para promocionar sus colecciones... pero no cortos de postureo, centrados en sus productos, vacíos de contenido, para que entren por los ojos y ya está. No. Se alían con directores de cine independiente para producir auténticas obras de arte, y el de este verano se llama "Italy, Texas". No os lo resumo porque 1. se pueden activar los subtítulos en español 2. se me da fatal hacer resúmenes porque hablo demasiado 3. merece plenamente que dediquéis 9 minutos de vuestras vidas a verlo.

Bimba & Lola Mid-Season Sale

Empezaré con lo bueno e interesante, para que no resulte un post tan negativo. Por si no os habíais enterado, ayer mismo comenzaron las rebajas de mitad de temporada de Bimba & Lola. He estado observándolas detenidamente y quería destacar dos productos concretos que están en promoción. Personalmente me gustan, aunque no los necesito así que dudo que me los vaya a comprar, pero creo que serían un gran calzado de primavera para cualquier armario, y de precio se quedan muy bien.

I'll start with what's good and positive about Bimba & Lola's Mid-Season Sale, so that this doesn't turn out to be such a negative post. In case you didn't know about it, the sale started just yesterday. I have been carefully browsing through all the discounted items, and I wanted to make a shout-out to two specific pair of shoes. I personally really like them, but I also don't really need them at the moment so I won't be purchasing them, but I think they'd make great spring staples for any closet and the discounted price is fairly nice.

Hoy miércoles, el ecuador de la semana, me parece un buen día para compartir con vosotros mi domingo pasado. No fue nada extraordinario, pero ese conjunto de cosas sencillas hicieron que me lo pasará como una cría.

Wednesday, that tedious half-point... thought it'd be a good day to share with you a snapback from Sunday. I didn't do anything too extraordinary, but the combination of little things made me enjoy like a little kid.

Stars, stripes, and... French Bulldogs?

Antes de nada, quiero pedir perdón por la escasez de fotos que va a tener el post. Entre que estaba lloviendo y que pasamos la mitad de la tarde en las tiendas, la cámara se aburrió un poco. Este es el conjunto que llevé el viernes pasado: barras, estrellas, y un añadido: un bulldog francés muy cuqui gracias a Ted Baker. Las medias creo que son la segunda vez, literalmente, que me las pongo... No estaba muy inspirada, la lluvia, el fresco, el cansancio... todo se ve reflejado en una elección bastante oscura de prendas.

First of all, I want to apologize in advance for the lack of pictures of this post. Besides being rainy on that day, I spent nearly half of the afternoon inside several stores with my friend, so my camera obviously got bored. This is what I wore last Friday: stars, stripes, and a cute French Bulldog thanks to Ted Baker. Also, I think it was literally only the second time I had worn those tights. I wasn't feeling very inspired, then the rain and cold happened, Friday tiredness... the choices of dark clothing are pretty obvious.

El que lo sigue, lo consigue.

¿Os creíais que me iba a olvidar de vosotros, criaturas de la blogosfera, tan facilmente? El problemo es que entre semana, si mi tiempo libre fuera una función tendería a 0 o incluso a menos infinito, si nos ponemos matemáticos. Que sí estudios, natación, dar clases de inglés para sacarse unas pelas... y esas cosas típicas que se suelen hacer a los 16 años. A ver si programo algún post para la semana que viene para que no me echéis mucho de menos (ahora es cuando, si fuese retrasada, pondría etiqueta ironía modo ON)

Did you think I'd forget about you all, creatures of the blogosphere, so easily? The problem-o is that, if we think of my spare time during weekdays as a function, we could definitely say that its limit tends to 0, or even negative infinity. School, swimming, working as an English tutor for some kids to get some $$$... just the average stuff a 16 year old does. I'm thinking of scheduling several posts for the days to come about this past weekend because I have a lot to share with you guys but I don't want to tire you out today! 

HIDEAWAY

No soy yo muy de Semana Santa, y ayer quería salir a dar un paseo sin toparme con todas las procesiones de la ciudad y sin sufrir escenas de claustrofobia aguda intentando atravesar las calles principales. Así que llamé a mi mejor amigo y le dije de subir a mi zona favorita de Granada: el bosque de la Alhambra, el Palacio de Carlos V y alrededores. 

I am not so much of an Easter person, and I wanted to go out for a walk without running into all of my city's religious processions and having to live through severely claustrophobic situations because of the main streets' crowdedness. So I called up my best friend and told him we should go up to my favourite part of Granada: the Alhambra forest, Carlos V's Palace and its surroundings (must-see area if you ever visit Granada!)       

Como ha llovido tantísimo últimamente, sabía que la zona tenía que estar preciosa y muy verde. Elegí un outfit súper cómodo (para subir la Cuesta de los Chinos, mejor no andarse con tonterías...) combinando prendas muy ligeras aprovechando la temperatura que era templada. Mi hermana me prestó una chaqueta de gasa estilo kimono y solo tengo 3 palabras: oh my God. Creo que fue la cosa más cómoda que me había puesto hasta ese día. Espero que os guste el conjunto (y que no os importen las uñas sin pintar...)

Since it has rained bunches lately, I knew that area was bound to look beautiful and very spring-ish. I chose a very comfy outfit (trust me, to walk up and down La Cuesta de los Chinos it's better not to fool around...) mixing really light garments since the temperature wasn't too bad. I borrowed a gauze kimono from my sister, and I only have 3 words to say about it: oh my God. I think it was the most comfortable piece of clothing I have worn to this day. I hope you dig the outfit (also hope you don't mind the bare nails...)

Easy does it

Os dejo un outfit de hace un par de días, cuando llovía cada media hora, paraba, volvía a llover... solo salí a hacer un par de recados y luego a dar una vuelta
, así que no me complique mucho: bolso de charol, chaqueta denim, el mítico jersey de rayas, pantalones negros y el par de botas todoterreno por excelencia.

Here's an outfit from a couple of days ago; it rained every half hour, then stopped, then started again...bipolar spring weather! I was only going out to run some errands and to take a small walk, so I didn't make a big deal of it: patent leather bag, denim jacket, that handy striped sweater, black pants, and my favourite all-weather, infallible pair of sturdy boots.

PRIMAVERA: tenemos que hablar...

Llegó el comienzo oficial de la primavera y parece que Mother Nature se lo está tomando muy a pecho, quizás demasiado, en mi opinión... Si la temperatura no es demasiado fría, la verdad es que no me importa que llueva, aunque es un sinónimo de limitación: ponerse zapatos y bolsos buenos, o simplemente no aptos para la lluvia, es tomar grandes riesgos.

Spring has officially arrived and it seems like Mother Nature has been taking it very seriously. As long as temperatures aren't too cold, I don't really mind rainy weather, although it is synonym of limitation: wearing nice, or just not rain-ready shoes and bags is quite a risky sport.

Ambiente pre-Semana Santa en la ciudad de Granada.

Puede que suene raro e incluso algo friki, pero a mi estimula el hecho de tener que usar la imaginación a la hora de vestirme, de tener ciertas limitaciones en el vestuario y aún así acabar ideando outfits con los que estar a gusto y no tener que preocuparme por que no me caiga ni una gota.

It may sound odd and probably nerdy, but the challenge of having to use imagination because of the limitations mentioned before really stimulates and encourages me to dress comfortably so I don't have to worry even for a second about getting slightly rained on.

Este es el caso de lo que me paso el domingo pasado. No es un conjunto muy historiado, pero cómodo 100%
